Got my eye on a ‘Grillbot’!

So will the world eventually be taken over by robots and machines. Will the human race become as dependent on computerized gadgets as they are in the film Wall-E?  I love that film! One of my favorites by Disney Pixar, however the thought of becoming a floating blimp whilst the robots do all the work cleaning up after us is a little bit worrying and troublesome to me, as I’m a person that likes to do as many things myself as possible. Granted a little “dude” to tidy up my house I will not snub at, and in this day and age we are not that far away from it. Technology is super exciting if we use it the right way and don’t neglect the physical human being form.

Looks like we are already on our way with the Tablet side of things. They’re not quite floating in front of our faces yet though but I don’t doubt that there will soon be a tablet accessory that will make it possible. If you’ve not seen the movie I recommend that you check it out. It’s awesome! To me, it made me think about how consuming we as human beings have become. So much waste that we can’t manage to keep on top of it ourselves, so we need to invent something to do it for us. As with all Disney films there’s a lesson in their motion pictures that you still learn from even as an adult.

I’ve just found this post and I have to say ‘hats off’ to the inventors because these bits of kit are super clever and pretty much available to use now!

CES robots take on cleaning, fun and personal assistance
Being a robot can mean a lot of different things these days. Parrot, EcoVacs and Kickstarter-backed startups are among the companies that showcased interesting applications at CES.

Okay, I’m convinced, I’ve got my eye on one of those ‘Grillbots’! That is one household chore I would happily hand over to technology.

It’s funny what visions people have of the future isn’t it? I can remember watching Back to the Future as a kid and thinking “Wow! What if we actually DO get hover boards, flying cars and a 3D screen where Jaws tries to eat you!” There have been some crazy and fantastic ideas from scientists, that one day may or may not be available to the consumer.

The Weirdest CES Gadgets Of All Time — That Never Came Out – Gizmodo
GizmodoYour personal household robot was finally here! Except that it wasn’t. Everyone thought that the 1980s was going to be the decade when domestic robots would finally invade American homes.

Check out that Comodor LCD (CES 1985)! I think we’ve come a long way since then. Can you imagine the majority of people not having a desktop PC, Mac or laptop nowadays? It’s unthinkable really. So I shall leave you with thoughts of past ideas and those that are of the future and actually becoming a reality. Maybe you have ideas of your own?
