Undecided on Tablet Photography

I’m not quite sure how I feel about photography on Tablets. I’m still trying to work out if I like the idea or not. For me photography is all about holding your camera and connecting with it. Twisting the lens, depressing the shutter button, having to think about how to actually take the photo. Maybe I’m just not getting with the times, but I’m a girl that likes using film so what more can I say.

I think there is definitely something I just can’t let go of when it comes to the traditional methods of photography. Having said that though, I am willing to give new technology a try. I just think that taking photos with a Tablet might not give you the best “grip” on the device so that you can really get involved in what you are taking photos of. Plus I would be too scared that I would drop it! Seems like there are some great tablet accessories around though. They are even making detachable lenses.

The Japanese company launched a brand new mount, the SPA-TA1, that attaches the Sony QX lens cameras to tablets. This mount has 6 adjustable arms making it attach to larger hardware…

Like they say…the idea is there, but if the image quality isn’t then that needs some developing. I’m going to explore photography and artwork a little more on tablets. It will give me a nice little project to look into. I’m a big fan of David Hockney. Both his photography and his paintings and I know he has been doing a lot of artwork via iPad.

How Technology Illuminates the Way We See. A major exhibit of the iconic British painter’s recent work—David Hockney: A Bigger Exhibition—just closed at the DeYoung Museum here in San Francisco.

So clever! Maybe I have been a little ignorant into what talent is involved in creating artwork though a more digital medium. Time for a little more research!
