The Green Apple

I’m a girl who likes to do her bit for the environment. I recycle what I can and hope to one day be in a position where I live off as much renewable energy as possible. We only have one chance with this planet and taking care of it, is of importance to me. So in my book kudos goes to Apple for increasing their recycling efforts even more.

Apple Brings Recycling Effort To All Its Stores

We know that Apple has always been a very environmentally-conscious company. Greenpeace has given Apple their approval regarding how green their data centers are, but it seems Apple is not stopping there.

Not only are Apple contributing to saving the planet, but they are also very clever in their marketing strategy by offering gift cards, which will ultimately lead onto the consumer purchasing another of their products.

Technology can be seen as a drain on our environment, however, there are many ways in which it can help us to improve things. I found this interesting article from a lady who has most definitely seen some changes in her time, with the advancement of technology and the effect it has on the planet.

Jane Goodall: Technology can help save environment – Marshfield News-Herald

Jane Goodall: Technology can help save environment. But I need your help now and I’m increasingly inspired by the role technology – and especially young people’s mastery of it – can play to extend our voices and ideas in support of environmental stewardship. From rural villages in Africa to megacities ..

Not only will the physical recycling of our electronic devices help us to keep Earth on the green side, we can use these devices to spread the word through technology and social media on how to take care of things, improve our knowledge and demonstrate how we can reduce our carbon footprint!
